The opening ceremony
The opening ceremony has started and I am sitting here watching Argentina entering the arena with their one contestant. I can't hold the emotions back, and tears are erupting.
I bet everybody in Hamar OL-amfi are touched by the atmosphere - people clapping and the dogs barking...the lights are following each team into the arena. And there is no doubt that all the work in behind is totally worth this few minutes. It`s just fantastic!
In this moment Japan has reach their place among the others and it`s a great view. The opening ceremony from the Olympic Games can`t compare. Each team are entering one and one - it seams like all the equipages more or less are dancing their way in at the music.
Waving hands and waging tales. A lot of the competing dogs is respectfully dressed up in silky coats coloured as their national flags - they are walking proudly beside their owners.
33 countries will be represented in this competition and there is no dog in sight with the tale between the legs. No - they are actually trotting proudly forward. Probably unaware of why it is dark in the hall - but nevertheless looking as much forward to this as the humans. The dog has three hole days of hard work ahead as well.
Then enters the Swedish team and the sound of the exstatic audience has no end. Their supporters is saluted as the team turn around and share with them. Same thing goes for Switzerland.
Finally enters the Norwegian team as the last one. The charing is endless and the sound is breathtaking. Imagine.. we are the hosting country this year..This will never be forgotten!
